Ghost in My New House

Posted on March 12, 2010

I was 11 years old and mom said we had to move I didn’t understand I liked the old house we lived in. It had memories and felt like home.

I hadn’t seen the new house till it was to late to turn back mom had me stay with a friend for most of the move and all I had to do was put my things in my room. The entire time it felt as though I where being watched and I constantly called down the hall to my older sister just to make sure she was really there and not playing with me. Big sisters do that some times.

I never used to sleep with the door open but here it felt unsafe to do so and the first two weeks I herd my cat go hissing from my door to chase something into the kitchen. I know it was the kitchen because I chose the wrong way to put my bed. You see I could see all the way down the hall to the kitchen and then the basement steps. I did ok convincing my self that my cat was just getting used to her new home like me.

Yet on the third week mom had gone to her sisters and my older sister was at work and I was home alone for the first time in the new house I found the safest place was in the basement watching a movie. Halfway through I herd my cat on the stairs snarling as loud as she could she sounded like she was facing down a bear. I turned off the TV and I could hear the cupboards slamming upstairs I though my sister got home early.

I ran up stairs to greet her but no one was there. My cat came up with me and chased an invisible something down the hall to my room. As I watched her I could see out of the corner of my eye an old lady with big coke bottle glasses and a red hat. I turned to get a better look but she was gone and that’s not the last ghost I have seen in this new house. Of course the house is not new any more and some of the stories aren’t mine. But this one is.

I have had this story in my head for a while and have been meaning to put it down.

wo, you know i’ve had a really similar expirience. I posted it so maybe in the future you could read it. my kitty would run away from it though. And my ghost wasn’t an old woman, it was a little boy, so it was probably a demon. We should be bffs. And i was 11 too when i moved to the new house! What a strange coincidence.
