I think that I have mentioned a portion of this story in another post. Anyway, here is the whole thing!
A few years ago we bought an older home, not living there any more! Only stayed one year. The day of closing on the house, as we did our final walk through, I walked past the staircase. As I glanced up, there was a girl standing at the top, SOLID FORM, her hair was long and curly and put up with a barrette. Her dress was long and made of of white lace, old fashioned dress I would say. She looked to be about early 20′s. She looked down at me with a very sad look on her face, then turned and walked into one of the bedrooms.
Well, my husband and realtor were standing straight across from me in the dining room. I scooted in there quickly and said, there is a girl at the top of the stairs. The realtor said, now, we cant back out, we are about to go to the closing. I said I no! I wish I had taken heed from the look on that girls face.
After we moved in, I never saw her again, but we heard many strange noises, my husband and I, had a lot of problems with the house, although it passed inspection. The longer we lived there, it seemed to give off some type of old odor… and I am a clean, germ nut.. I hate dirty!
The neighborhood seemed very nice for about two months, after that it was creepy… and the guy next door was a nut, it got so bad that we could not go outside… he was always watching, and if we came out he was cussing at us. The other neighbors just turned their heads.
I mean, it was a nice place, how could darkness fall on it so quickly… before you know it, my hubby and I were at each others throats… arguing all the time, screaming in fact… its as if something was making us mean… my nerves were shot… I am trying to put this story in a nut shell, as lots of things happened… Things got so bad, that after one year to the day we moved in we put the house on the market. It took 15 months to sell, and we definitely lost money. We had to put a lot of money into it almost immediately after moving in.
The girl at the top of the stairs must have been warning me. Never in our lives did we think that we would put a huge down payment on a house, as we had just sold our other one, and move in a year. But,, what do you do? I see and hear things all of the time, I cant just run every time! Anyway, we have lived in our new home almost two years now, this is the one with colors, I wrote about it.

something i forgot to add….. when we where looking at houses to buy, we wanted a one story, as like some of you know i have MS and fibro.. so stairs where out…… this house had very steep stairs, to the upstairs rooms, which was, 2 bedrooms, a bath, and a bonus room,, we spent a lot of time up there, and the stairs just about killed me…. the point is:: its almost like we where sucked in…. we just had to buy the house!! we fell in love… to this day, i dont know why, as the house was set up very oddly… lots of small rooms, we wanted an open floor plan with lots of windows and light…. still cant believe we fell in love with that house… i hate to even think about it….. ktm

oh,, i have many stories!!! that happened in 2006… i mean, this girl was solid!!! we had just been upstairs, so we knew that no one was up there….. she actually went into the room facing the crazy neighbors house.. i should have know by the look on her face that something was up… this was at 11 am in the morning… i see , hear and smell, most things in the daytime…… ktm
i’ve heard of these entities, they feed off negative energy. i hope you and your husband get on better now that your out of that house!! and it sounds like the realitor knew something about the house. as for the neighbor, had he caused problems for the other neighbors and the previous owners also? i guess there wasn’t much you could do about him and i don’t think the cops could have helped much either. thanks for a heads up!! good story!!
Trolldoll,,, yes, he had caused others problems,, he was a very evil man… in fact,, what made us move out, and into an apartment that we could not afford is….. One friday night a police officer came to our door… the nut had called the police on us…. Why??? we have no clue…….. you see, when we bought the house we worked very hard to redo the inside and the yard…. we planted and so on.. we both love to be outdoors….. i am a picture nut.. i take tons of pics. of everything, especailly as we change things in the house or yard… the last house we lived in, we also remodled and i have tons of pics…
anyway,, my husband had been out in the backyard for about 10 minutes, taking pics of the deck we had just redone….. 4 pics to be exact…… about 30 minutes later, the cop shows up.. i invited him in, and could see that the nut and his family where all standing in thier driveway watching…. i said to the cop,,, ok,, whats going on and kind of giggled.. i said,, what is the nut doing now??? well, the cop said,,,, the nut called him to say that we where taking pics of thier 7 year old daughter in thier pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my mouth dropped open, and i got all upset,, i told the cop, here is the camera,, look at the pics,, he would not….. why?? i dont know…..
We already had a fenced in back yard, in fact half an acre… but we had recently had a privacy fence put up in front of it on that side of the yard.. the nut was really pissed about that.. he even cussed out the fence guy… you see, now he couldnt just watch us any time!!!!! he yelled at us, while the fence was being built, that he would kill our bushes and trees that we had planted,,, and,, he did…. coudnt prove it though…..
so,, on with the story,,,,, the cop knew that he was a nut,,,,,, after 1 year of daily problems from this guy, we decided to move…. it took us 15 months and every penny we had saved to sell that house…..things got so bad when we would go to cut grass that we had to hire someone to do it for us… this guy was sly,, he made sure that he would not get caught…
one day i was at the house, when he was at work, and a nieghbor told us that he had been spreading nasty rumors about us to everyone around…..
this is a very small part of the story!!! our nerves where shot by the time we sold that house… at least we had sunk a lot of cash into it, and made it very nice for the new owners.. and the privacy fence,, im sure they love!!!!!
we are still paying on 2 credit cards, where we had to borrow money to survive,, but,, its worth every penny to be away from there.. i swear,, that guy had the devil in him……
and we thought that we lived in a nice nieghborhood…. i trully believe that the whole place had some type of evil going on… after a few months of being there, the sun didnt seem so bright,,, a very heavy feeling of dread, even outside…….

KTM, you are BRAVE!! if that were me, and i saw a person there that wasn’t there a moment ago… i would’ve literally jumped out of my skin faster than a speeding bullet to get out of there!! don’t care how nice the house was, that is scary! to top it off with a nutty, next door neighbor, (which could very much be a reason the girl looked at you so sadly) and all the other nice neighbors. i don’t think so.
i am glad you’re out, and i hope you and your hubby are at ease now. you’re one tough lady to handle stuff like that so well, b/c, people that can’t, may end up a crazy person like your old neighbor

well needless to say you did what you could do to keep this guy at bay. i am very sorry that you had to put up with so much and loose so much to a man with mental illness! i feel sorry for his family or were they as bad as him? yeah i’ve had a run in or two with people who aren’t quite functional when it comes to social skills. such is life i too live in a small town with what we call the villiage idiots. this world needs more people like you

I always don’t like stairs it always frightens me. There are two entites in and around the house the FIRST ONE IS THE GIRL AND THE SECOND ONE IS THE NUT! ! ! ! I think the second one here is dangerous than the girl. Bye see you GUYS LATER.

maybe when she went into the room facing the crazy neighbors house, she wants to warn you about them. maybe she looked upset because she knew that things wouldn’t go well to you because of them. such thing had happened before and the same bad things would happen to you, so she appeared to you to warn you. well, maybe.. that’s what i thought. ^^
trolldoll,,, funny you should say!! we did call him the village idot,,lol… between ourselves!!! the bad thing was, he was getting his young kids involved…. getting them to yell at us and so on, and praising them to do so…. well, all i can say is, what goes around comes around…..

one day, as we where still moving things out of the house, it was on a sunday morning, we where hoping that he was in bed,,,, we backed our truck up to the garage, before my hubby could even put the truck in park,, the nut was coming across our front yard, cussing, trying to get my hubby to fight him.. i told hubby, stay in the truck, and we both did…. he didnt leave untill i held up my cell phone,, i guess he thought that i was calling the police!!!!!
we opened the garage door and backed the truck in and stayed closed, inside the garage and house untill it was time to leave.. we where both shaking!!! i really wish that we had seen the girl at the top of the stairs while we where still looking at houses, we would not have bought that one,, for sure!! i wonder why she waited untill the last minute to appear????? the thing is, i never saw her again…. but, we both saw and heard many creepy things while we lived there…..
have you ever seen the movie, money pit???? well, we had the house inspected and everything was fine,,,, 2 months after we moved in the whole heat pump and blower unit went…. $3500.00 to replace…. we found many problems in the house…. 9 months later, the water heater went, and made a huge mess, as it was placed under the stairs…. $700.00 to replace..took 4 days to clean up the water and mess before we could have a new one installed…….. and so many small things…
i know old houses need work,, but,, between all of it, it just about drove us nuts…. in the bonus room upstairs, we had a den/office set up… it was a huge room… many days i would hear what sounded like a lawnmower runnning in the room.. when i would get close to the noise it seemed to move…
i could be downstairs and hear talking upstairs, i would think that i left the tv on,, but when i checked, everything was quiet.. same thing went for if i where upstairs..many times i thought my hubby had come home from work early… as i would hear the door open, and talking, like someone had just come in….
just glad to be out of there!!!!! ktm
mellisa,,,,, i realized that very quickly after we moved in, that she was warning us of the nut next door….. i just wonder,, why did i only see her that one time??? maybe she went to be with the former owners, as we where just about to purchase the house.. so,, when i saw her, we didnt actually own the house for 1 more hour….. i never thought of that before, that we didnt actually own the house when i saw her…
the previous owners had 2 small boys, whos bedrooms where upstairs,, maybe she watched over them…..!!!! i never thought of it like that before!!!! so,, we didnt have her to watch over us, we where on our own!!! thats a thought……
usually, when i see an aparition, it stays around…. i tell ya,,, i can still see her sad face,, she was a beautiful girl,, i am guessing, maybe from the late 1800′s, by the way she was dressed……
maybe she had been there for a long time and was ready to move with the previous owners to thier new house!!!! maybe she was also afraid of the nut…..things got so bad that we really thought we where in physical danger,, thats why we got out quickly… we even tried to move while he was at work…. we where so afraid for those 15 months that he would do something to our home,, maybe burn it down…… terrible stress to live with….
i have seen so many movies of people just up and leaving thier homes,,,, i never thought i would be one of them……… ktm

That sounds awful the way all your neighbors got to be…and I know the stress from moving and re-adjusting to a new home could have caused some of the tension…but I do believe that there are some places that are just negative.
I am always wondering if there are some of these places that were sacred to the Native Americans at one time….the town I live in is reportedly built on top of burial ground used by the Illiniwek and Kickapoo tribes. There are many hauntings and unexplained happenings.
I wonder if maybe that wasn’t the case with this house…and maybe the woman you saw at the top of the stairs used to live there…is now trapped. As you said, maybe she was trying to warn you. Thanks for sharing it here.
Whoa, KTM! That is so scary! I bet you could write a movie or a book with that and make up the losses with that profit!

just to set the facts right… i see and hear things, but, others also see and hear things around me.. has always been that way!!! but, i have some friends that share the same type of experiences….
As far as i remember, it all started in England when i was 4……i will post that story soon… i am 51 now, and have always lived this way…..
My dad used to tell me that i was a (sensetive) just like him.. he only talked to the family about it, when i was older…. i have always had nightmares, and walked in my sleep as a child…..

I’m so glad that you and your husband are out of that house, and I’m so sorry that you both had to go through what you did, with that crazy person. You take care of yourself. Talking about “Nut” cases, I work with a “Nut” case in my office. My co-worker is so mean and ugly to me. The only thing that I can figure is that she’s jealous that I have a happy marriage and she dosen’t, that I’m losing more weight than her (we’re both on diets…I’m on a diet mon – fri and go off of it just a little on the weekends
), that I’m a true blond and she isn’t…I just don’t know what her problem is. She, too, spreads mean, ugly rumors that are not true, about my husband and I around the offices. The only thing I do know, is that I pray to God every day that I don’t strangle her…LOL!

Regarding a human haunting; I truly believe my aunt is also haunted. Everywhere she moves, she has paranormal, poltergiest experiences. It could be in her new home, staying at someone elses home as a guest, staying a night at a random hotel while traveling. Legend has it that you can bring this condition on yourself, although you cannot make it go away by yourself. If you are religious, contact your priest…s/he should be able to guide you in the right direction.

amy,,, you do have a point like i said before…it could be me,, i really hope not…. i dont know of any priest that would help me, as i am not Catholic…. my sis’s pastor may help, but im sure my sis would not want me to talk to him,,,as she would be ambarassed,, im sure.. you see, she keeps all of this very quiet…..
i have tried talking to docs about it,, only one doc. really takes me seriously,, she is from lebanon…. very spiritual, like me….. i will be seeing her again on Wednesday…… will be getting results of my brain mri….. hopefully,, its coming from the MS.. but,, that doesnt explain my whole life…. anyway,, its a good point!!!!!

hi ktm read your story very nice but im sorry you had to go through that that guy sounds like one of those poeple that if you were alone with them you would probly not see the next day what compelles a person to just target a couple just for moving in and cussing them out for building a fence my god he needs ALOT of help that kinda sounds like my neighbors we dont have a drive way just one long piece of rode anyway i have a big famly well they get cussed out just for parking in there spot because they have no choice my brother said the guys wife actualy hung outside of her moving car and cussed him out and threatend to hit his car weve done nothing to these people but i guess theres nutjobs in evreytown
since that time in that house, my hubby and i have had problems!!! at first things got better, but, i am wondering now if something got a hold of him,, my hubby,, he is not the same person he used to be… i feel that i dont know him any more…. at times,,, he seems to have this hateful side to him….
i really feel that the ghost girl, was warning us.. but,, the house had us so drawn in…….. my dog even seems different,, he seems to jump at every sound now, and we live in a very peaceful place….. i am at my wits end…..my dog will lay in his bed and growl very low, as if there is something there……
i have put off saying all of this, as i know it can make things worse,, but,, i have had many battles in my life,, and i dont give up easy….. i wont give into it……
the girl was so beautiful, to have such a sad face!!!!! its been very hard the past few weeks, as i feel very tired like i am dragging a weight around…and weak!!! all over…. it could be the ms or fibro., but i dont think so…
i am also seeing the colors again,, i posted about it…… and hearing whispers…. not a good sign…..i thought my daughter was comunicating with me at first, but, now, im not sure!!!!
my mom and my hubby, in 2 different locations, within 2 days heard a huge thump, or like something had fallen… they where both spooked,, i was there both times and didnt hear anything….
i sure hope that nut didnt curse our house,,,,, i know there was something evil about him, but i dont know if his negativity could have followed us….

Hi everyone, i have been away from the site for a while, but have returned with good news. Things are much better these days, as we have moved on with our lives and let the past go. I will have more stories to post as time goes on…. good to be back!!!!
