Fred Jackson
Here is a well known paranormal photo that has been widely published both in books and online. This strange picture was shot in 1919 but wasn’t published until 1975.
This picture is a group portrait of Sir Victor Goddard’s squadron. These men had served in the R.A.F. in WW I. If you look in the top row at the fourth man from the left you will see a ghost like face behind him.
Two days before this photograph was taken a mechanic by the name of Freddy Jackson died in an accident. Jackson’s funeral had actually been held on the same day the group photo was taken. Squadron members have said they could recognize the face in the picture as that of Freddy Jackson.
Did Jackson show up for the group photo even though he was dead? In our Paranormal Survey {at the time of this posting} 83.5% of those who participated said that they believe this is a genuine ghost picture. What do you think? Is this Freddy Jackson’s ghost showing up for the group photo?

Wow, I believe that it’s him, especially since his funeral was the same day. It’s kind of a sad, it’s like he didn’t want to miss be in the picture.
Does anyone have a picture of Freddy taken before his demise to compare this with?
I wonder if the guy he was standing behind was his friend?
Yes I too wondered at the relationship (if any) between these two men? It sure makes you think doesn’t it? the two men look different so it’s not a dbl exposure thing going on either…
was just thinken the same thing are they related or close or even lovers, very good pic
I cant see him in the big picture!!But dont get the wrong idea but he does look kinda cute!!You must think im a Phsyco, but he really is!!
are they close???? much better if they will also post the pix of Freddy to compare with this strange pix….
I love this pic. I’ve seen it many times. He looks like Chandler Bing from Friends.
I don’t think this kind of thing is unusual. During war men and women are killed so quickly that they don’t realize they are dead and since time ceases for a deceased person, (a personal belief) the person can stay in one spot for 1 year, 10 years, 100 years or more without realizing how much time has passed. They are confused and in a limbo type state and so there is no one to tell them otherwise. So not understanding and not wanting to leave a place or person they love they stay put. I am sure most of you realize this. Ghosts are like people; you —heads, meanies, downright evil, and compassionate giving ghosts. Fortunately most of my experiences are with the last kind. These pictures give me hopw, maybe one day I will be able to capture one of my loved ones. What do you think?
Oh Caretaker, I forgot to tell you that there is a mistake in the article. The picture was taken in 1919 so they served in World War I – you accidently hit to many Roman Numeral ones. Simple mistake – we all know what you meant. Thank your for this great place to read and chat.
Robbie – thank you for pointing that out to me. Someitmes I think my keyboard is possessed!
It seems I use the delete and backspace more than anything!
Why am I not able to view the pictures on my HTC Touch? I don’t have computer…

I have seen this picture a thousand times, and still to this day I don’t have any explanation for it…
Yes…I truly believe that this ghost was trying to show up for his picture with his former comrads. I mean why not?. I believe that this a true photo. I only hope that the men were glad to see their friend that had passed on.
I’ve seen this pic so many times. I really believe its a ghost.
I dont think its double exposure for 2 reasons.
1- If it was why is that the only face in the pic double exposed??
2- If you look close he looks nothing like the guy in front. His nose and mouth area are less defined and he has a shorter chin. And no hat.
you can clearly see the guys hairline too.
I think I see a man behind freddy ..his face is the size of the man in front of freddy the man behind him (freddy) looks like he has a old fashion cap thay had for helmets and goggles for the pilots then….what do you think
Freddy Jackson was in World War I as a pilot. He was flying in the War plane the DC-3 (The Dakota!) and got hit by a nisle. He died quickly and as Rob said dead people don’t know there dead if they died quickly. Awesome article!
i really enjoy this link but for some reason i dont believe in ghosts, nothing scares me.so about this pic, cant say much.but who knows, this world is full of mysterious things.
i am one of the most skeptical people when it comes to this subjuct simply because ive seen to many fakes. I grew up on an indian burial site so i KNOW about the paranormal but this one seems real. that and photoshop didnt exist in the ’70s.anyway i was looking for photos for me thesis on the paranormal
heh thats creepu
i dont see what is so scary and i dont see him
In the picture of all the men standing, where is the gentleman that they have circled and enlarged standing because I cannot see him amongst the other men? I don’t think he is in the line up, and that the picture in the circle was taken at another time.
Arnold – Look at the top row and count 4 starting from the left, that is the man in the zoom-in circle
logan is very smart
A truely amazing picture.
