I think that everyone should watch their children closely especially when dealing with ghosts or spirits. I think most of the time spirits are harmful. They do things in your favor to manipulate you into thinking that you can trust them but I think that's its for their own benefit somehow. I would be careful as how to approach the situation because you never know how a spirt can react, you might even provoke it and serious things might happen. I think you should confide in experts who know more about it.

Melanie And Christina, yes, I personnaly believe (in context of what is written here) that your children have imaginary friends. (Btw, I have twin daughters who have language delays, doctors call it "Dysphasie" but that's the french term)

Anyway, It would be to see if that imaginary friend is welcome or not by the child. The yes/no game suggested by Rose is a good idea, and if the child dislikes this ghost friend, then action is to take place. I personnaly would confront the ghost itself, but that is simply an opinion.
If that doesn't work, then I guess a priest would be in order...

Christina, you are so right about the speech delay, our childrens doctor said that, that is normal, if you are in a family that speaks several languages, the teacher at school said that my daughter had comprehension problems, but she got all A's in english, she knows english, but doesn't want to speak it, they say it's cause they don't want to feel different than the other kids, but she is the first in her english class to raise her hand and say that she knows the answer! I'm American, my husband is Italian and we live in France, enough to confuse anyone!

Christina,

I absolutely believe that in some case a child's 'imaginary friend' is more than just imagination.

If you havent already done so you should read more about this at http://www.trueghosttales.com/imaginary-friends.php Another great place to get some input is in our forum at TalkParanormal.com

My 2 year old son also has speech delay due to the fact he has been learning two languages.

For the past two weeks he has been talking about the man with the 'icky face who fell and is hungry' with no speech problems...the only time we can understand him is when he is talking about htis man.

I asked him his name but he does not know. He is scared of him and seems to see him in the dining room daily (the rest of the family and I have seen something dark in there, but have passed it off as shadows), except for the other day he said he was in the car with us.

A few months ago my husband took a photo of us and there seems to be an orb of some sort right next to him, but we thought nothing more of this.

I have been getting a little nervous the last week about the man with the icky face (that is why I am on this site). After reading this story, do you think there is somebody my son is seeing and should I be concerned and what can I do about it? I live in Denmark and I don't think there is anybody here who can help.

Play the yes or no game with her. My godson can't speak very well either (just turned 4 and is starting to talk properly with therapy to) and he does see ghosts. Children are the innocents of the world and can see more than they can say.

Ask her about her imaginary friend. Start with something like "Do you have a friend that only you can see and hear?" or something along that line. Go from there.

That's all I can really suggest and it seemed to work with my godson.
