Downtown Tampa

Posted on May 4, 2010

Jim again. This happened late one Sunday night in the summer of 92′. I was cycling on Bayshore Blvd., it’s a seven something mile long sidewalk that goes from Ballist Point to Davis Island which is just downtown. As I passed Bay to Bay Blvd. the path curves toward the north, that is when I saw something that made me get off my bike and rub my eyes and then look again.

I sat there for almost an hour watching this thing and telling myself I was not seeing it but of course I was. There were no clouds in the sky that night except one. Directly over downtown was the face of a devil! I was not on drugs, I was not drinking. This face was so detailed. There were eyes like a cats that seemed to be looking around. There were horns, nose and a mouth with fangs.

Here’s the curious thing, the wind was blowing out of the west that night. The cloud “thing” never moved but it did smear? … for lack of a better word.

Has anyone ever rubbed their hand over a chalk or charcoal drawing? The picture will remain intact but straight lines will run off which ever way you rub it. I hope I’m explaining this in a way people can understand.

After almost an hour I could not watch any more, but one thing to note. I mentioned the eyes moving, at one point the “eyes” seemed to be looking at me. Have you ever had someone stare at you? you can feel it, well I felt it, it was almost like a dislocating slap in the face.

Something else, I saw the same face spray painted on a wall and the same face painted on a bundle of 2×4′. The same face between Florida and Washington St. Curious!? I was the only one to witness this, but it is true… thanks, Jim.

P.S. Almost an hour went by watching this thing, although it was smeared the face stilled showed signs of animation and emotion, hate anger… Peace
