DEAR KIMBERLY, IT IS SO GOOD TO HEAR THAT SOMEONE ELSE DOES THIS. I HAVE BEEN ADOPTING GRAVES FOR YEARS. WHERE EVER I MOVE TO I LOOK FOR ALL THE GRAVEYARDS. AND I FIND ALOT OF PEACE WONDERING AROUND THEM. I ALSO CLEAN UP OTHER SPOTS THAT NEEDS IT. AT THIS TIME I HAVE FOUR CHILDREN'S GRAVES THAT I TAKE CARE OF. I SPEND TIME WITH EACH ONE. FEELING LIKE THEY KNOW I AM THERE. NO I AM NOT CRAZY! JUST INTUITIVE. I AM HALF INDIAN AND HALF ENGLISH. BOTH HAVING THE ABILITY TO SEE THE OTHER SIDE. I HAVE HAD ALOT OF THINGS HAPPEN TO ME. OR SHOULD I SAY FOR ME! JUST KEEP UP YOUR HOBBY. THEY ALL LOVE YOU FOR IT. BE BLESSED GHOSTWATCHER

I don't think I can add too much to what has already been said....it is a lovely story, and I admire you for taking the time for the cemetery upkeep. We had a cemetery not far from the town I live in that was just let go so terribly...it ended up getting a reputation for being haunted, and then groups of people that "thought" they were practicing some kind of spells ended up desecrating much of what was left. It was a shameful end to a small family cemetery...and so unnecessary, if people would just take the time to care.

Dear Kimberly,
What you are doing is really wonderful. Most people do not bother about those who are dead and after the first few days do not even remember the person and also kim, you said, “There have been times in the past when I felt ill at ease just wondering through the cemetery looking for stones that need clearing and other times when I’ve felt quite welcome”. My advice would be don’t worry about the places where you have felt ill at ease but just go ahead and do what you have been doing. As with living people they may have been having a bad day and no matter what type of person may be buried there I am sure that they would appreciate having a clean and neat place to sleep in. So keep up the good work and may God Bless you.

I'm glad your cleaning in the cemetaries. I've never heard of someone doing that but it is nice. I hate to tell you, but talismen only work in novels. You'r just as well off getting a voodoo doll. Only the word of God has any power and that's only if you truly believe and are living the word otherwise he will not work through you. Remember in "Acts" when those 'supposed" holy men who knew of Christ but were not really of him tried to cast out demons. The demons said,"Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who art thou?....." and then proceeded to thoroughly thrash them to within an inch of their life. And as far as labeling it "gift" , Maybe everyone long long ago when mankind was a knew species could commune with spirits and feel energies and it was considered a normal thing. Maybe we've hardened our spiritual eyes and heart to such things and only a few through some genetic switch that was thrown at birth or some other external influence are sensitive. Who knows? There does seem to be something that effects a certain part of the population though.

oh, and also kim, you said, “There have been times in the past when I felt ill at ease just wondering through the cemetery looking for stones that need clearing and other times when I’ve felt quite welcome”.

i wonder why such opposite feelings with different headstones? do you guys think there’s such thing as a cemetery where “bad” people are put to be burried? or is everyone equally allowed to be laid to rest anywhere, both good and bad?!

just curious…

Karen - most cemeteries are very small and do not have anyone like a caretaker.

When I went to this on particular cemetery I always enjoyed it. I sometimes wondered off a little to read the description of the tomb stone.

The name, the year they died & the year they were born. The caretaker didn't mind that we were wondering around the cemetery either.

Though most of the graves were very old, dating back to the 1900's, some even went back to the 1800's though not alot of them were that old.

My classmates didn't really like the fact that I kept wondering off. But it's not like I didn't know where I was. I knew my way. And every time I keeled down to read the tomb stone, my teacher would tell me to get away from it. I didn't listen I just stayed and felt comfortable around those I read.

It's almost as the spirits wanted me to read about there birth & death.
