So I don’t know how this is going to sound because I can’t quite explain it myself. I’m hoping someone has some answers.
My boyfriend told me he see’s a lot of paranormal activity such as things moving and being thrown around, never been anything too frightening, more weird than anything.
Last night we went to bed and after about a minute or two of him being asleep, if that, he started to choke. I thought he was snoring at first and thought wow he went to sleep quick, so I left him to see if he would eventually stop. Then it got worse, only he sounded like he was choking this time, really choking.
I pushed him to wake him up and then had to shout at him quite loud until he woke up and gasped for air as though whatever had hold of his neck had suddenly let go. He was genuinely frightened and when he got up to turn the light on, where he had been laying there was a soaking wet imprint of his body. I was so frozen with fear because even with the light on and both of us being wide awake.
I could tell in his face he was genuinely terrified and in shock. When he told me what had happened he said as soon as he closed his eyes he was in a small garden and went through a gate, as soon as he opened it a small girl was stood in the doorway and grabbed him by his neck without any emotion on her face and without a struggle she managed to choke him. He said it felt like she was waiting for him to close his eyes or drop off to sleep.
My bedroom at this point had such an eerie and quite hostile feel. I’ve never ever experienced anything like it. I do believe in the paranormal but personally I’ve never seen anything, only ever felt things that I think were down to my own imagination.
He said that things like this have happened before such as a few years ago he woke up choking his girlfriend at the time but couldn’t remember how it had all came about, as far as he was concerned he was asleep.
Anyone with any sort of explanation please help?

Do you think that he can be suffering from night terrors?
She said he was choking, not just in his dream but for real, so of course it wasn’t just a night terror…
Sorry you had to go through that. I don’t really have an explanation for you, but hopefully knowing that neither of you are crazy, will comfort you. In my culture, we believe that sometimes it’s possible for evil spirits to attack the living when we are asleep because we believe that that is when we are most vulnerable. There are MANY superstitions in my culture that we believe could lead to what we call “Malu’ia”..in other words, being “overtaken”..such as sleeping with the moon shining on your face or the moon reflecting off of a mirror and onto your face. I don’t know if either of these superstitions are true. But I do know what you are going through and unfortunately, have recently experienced what your boyfriend went through. This has happened to MANY of my friends and family, and there are different ways to deal with it. The way I dealt with my experience, had a lot to do with my religion and it worked for me. But I’m not here to push any religious beliefs on you. I just want to let you know that you’re not alone, how you deal with it is completely up to you. Heeloo, my name is vicki, and I, have wrot about my experiences after moving into a old, huge victorian house in the historical area of dayton , oh. ( Haunted House on Huffman Avenue in Dayton Ohio You may or may not like to read it although I, didn’t write about everyy expierience we had. A few ppl in my family was choked by as a 8 yr old called the bad man. I, didn’t know it until I, became an adult but even though other ppl in my fam had horrible expieriance in our house I, was the only person in my fam who could actually see the bad man and the two maids. I, have no idea how I, knew the ladies were maids but I, did. My choking expierience I, don’t remember but my parents br was next to mine. They heard me chocking and ran into my room to find me being choked by some unseen force while in bed asleep. With my grandma, she was walking down our cold, dark, l shaped hall way to the bathroom one night while siiting with us kids. She couldn’t see what was choking her but felt hands around her neck while being chocked. To this day I, don’t know the reason why all those things happend but id love to know. I, got on this site tonite because I, wanted to share what just happend to me tonght. I, belive ill write about it. Id like to know what u and others think. I’ve had only a few experiences sence moving from that haunted house I, lived in with a kid. Id suggest you look up the history of. House. Good luck n god bless….vicki
