Abandoned Rundown Mental Hospital

This story I cant say its really on the paranormal side just more the creepy and weird.

When I was about 19 me and a friend decided to check out a rundown mental hospital for the criminally insane. And just to quickly explain how we got in there without any trouble my friends father bought the land and was planning to demolish it so we took it as the last chance to see it as it was left over 30 years ago.

We got inside as it was just hitting dusk so we still did not need our torches yet and we could still make out our surroundings. At first we saw nothing out of the ordinary just tables, cabinets, hospital beds… etc. even medicine cabinets which from what we could tell had been raided.

After about an hour we needed our flashlights so we headed to the second floor. Making our way to the end of the corridor we …

Buzzer Frenzy at Very Historical Hospital

I’ve had many ‘encounters’ with paranormal happenings. I will start by being brutally honest, the whole thing scares me and for sometime I have tried to make out that I did NOT believe in ‘spooky goings-on’. However, in my career as a nurse so many things have occurred that I have had to change my stand on this and now accept that what I have experienced is the paranormal at it’s most basic level.

This is just one of my experiences, but it was the one that truly opened my eyes and my thinking…

Having recently moved to the West of England I found myself working in a very old, very historical hospital building.

During an especially busy morning shift I found myself the only trained nurse with five Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) also on the shift with me. We had twenty-six patients in five different ward bays, one empty single room right at the far end of the …

My House Was Once A Hospice

My parents and I moved into our house in November 1986.  All was well until my dad died in September 1992.  The bills piled up and we ran out of money so we rented our house out and moved to my sister’s house.  The woman that moved into our house said, “This is such a beautiful home.  I work six houses down the block for a nursing home.  So I can literally walk to and from work!” We thought she was a GOD send.

Well about six months later, my mom told me to go and collect the rent.  I rang the door bell and some lady answered the door, I told her who I was and she said the woman wasn’t there.  I said, “Can I use your phone to call my mom to tell her Anna wasn’t there?”

When I walked in, I saw people walking around with hospital beds in our formal living room and dining room.  …

Ghosts In The Hospital

I work at a hospital during the shift of 7 pm to 7 am in North Carolina.  So many times there have been strange occurrences during the night that just can’t be explained.

When we work on our floor, we split the floors in half.  We have the east floor and the west floor.  Well that night I worked on the west floor and my nursing partner had the east.  During the lunch hour, I was discussing a story about a Japanese Horror movie I saw the night before (about a nurse working on a night shift like us and how the call bell to a room that used to be occupied by a patient that passed away that day started to ring.  She went anyway and ended up comforting a ghost that was in pain.  She embraced the fact that her job was The Comforter–regardless of the dead or living).

The thing was I never got to finish the …

The Rotting Man In The Abandoned Hospital

Once, when I was a bit younger, me and some friends of mine went to investigate an old abandoned hospital. It had been in the process of completion for days, but for some reason they cancelled the building process. No one knew why they did it. For weeks it just stood there. So we decided we would go and check it out.

We went on our bikes and headed off-road, towards the building site, since there were no official roads that led there. Eventually, we arrived at the site. The building itself looked rather spectacular, and it would have been an excellent hospital. However, after looking at it for several moments, the feeling of dread and unwelcoming started to take root. It didn’t look spectacular anymore. It looked cold, forsaken and dead.

With hesitation scratching our backs, we went through a gap in the fence. Immediately at the entrance of the building, we heard noises from within the building. …

Haunted Former Mental Hospital

Hey ya’ll my name is Miley Paxus and I just turned 15 years old.

I’ve been living in this old haunted house near the old mill in my town and it’s kinda creepy. Before we moved into this house, it was used as a mental hospital for special needs patients. I was only a child, about five or six when we moved in because all the other houses in the town were too scrawny, weird and ripped apart.

I was 12 when I actually figured out the type of house we lived in. I was so mad at my parents because I’ve seen shows about people moving into hospitals and places where people have died! Anyways, I went on the computer an typed in “Tennessee Mental Hospital 63943.” It came up with a list of survived patients and dead patients. The survived patients were seven percent and the dead patients were 93 percent – just my luck.

Haunted V.A. Hospital in Bay Pines Florida

Hello, I am updating my story about the haunted V.A. hospital in Bay Pines.

A couple of months ago I was working in the same building and same floor. My co-worker, who’s name is Gary, and I were cleaning up for the day. I was at one end of a hallway and Gary was at the other. There were six to eight rooms between he and I.

We always joke around and yell at each other. So I look up to say something funny to him and I see a leg from the knee to the foot walking in the room about four doors down. I saw it for only a split second, which I thought was strange because I didn’t see anyone coming down the hallway. And I thought to myself, that would be weird if I look in the room and nobody was there. So I go look and of course see nothing.

Haunted Hospitals

Have you ever heard of a hospital that was supposed to be haunted? When you think about it there have been quite a lot of deaths that have occured in hospitals. This is especially true for the really old ones. Not too many years ago the condition of health care was no where near what it is today.

One very famous haunted hospital is located in Kentucky. It is the Waverly Hills Sanitarium which was used for tuberculosis patients. There were more than 6,000 deaths here, no wonder there are ghosts!

We have two articles about the Waverly Hills Sanitarium:

Waverly Hills Haunted Sanitarium

Waverly Hills Sanitarium The Haunted Hospital

There is also a Veterans hospital in Virginia that is reported to be haunted.

Haunted VA hospital

Hello, I’m a construction worker out of Tampa Florida. I do a lot of maintenance work in the hospitals around the state.

I was at the Bay Pines V.A Hospital near St.Petersburg. There are many buildings on the complex, its just my luck I was in the oldest building. I was told that it was built in the late teens and early 20′s.

I was on the 2nd floor with a co-worker and we were the only ones on the floor at the time. We were at the end of a long hallway working in a mechanical room after hours. For some reason I looked down to the end of the hallway. I saw a man staring at me who had on a grey jumpsuit kind of like a mechanic suit and he was kind of pail and faceless.

So I turned to my co-worker and said I thought we were the only ones up here. He turned and looked …
