I am native American descent and Celtic on the other, so I have different beliefs to a lot of people. First, if you do believe in the christian God, by all means pray when you see this creature. However there are other things you can do to protect yourself no matter your religion. Sage is a powerful ward against evil spirits, and is used by native Americans, pagans, wiccans, African Christians, Hindu and various other tribes. Try lighting a small bundle of sage and wave the smoke around the room, doorway and windows, including any closets. (Careful though! You'll smell why demons and spirits don't like to be around sage!) This process is called smudging. If you are religious, recite a prayer to keep you safe while doing this, the more the better, or if you are spiritual, recite a protection spell, or if you are neither, just think positive and recite these positive thoughts aloud. Keep another bunch of dried sage and hang it near you door or window. I myself believe in God and Jesus, but I also believe that God left us many tools in nature to protect ourselves in the form of my native American and Celtic Druid faith. Remember, when cleansing you room, it is your strength of mind and faith that will make it a success. All the best and I know you'll find peace. It was weird we are th 2nd family to live in our house which is over 100 years old. Once my sister (she was 4) showed her the computer and the lady told her off so my sister cried. My mum can remember it all and now my sister is 15! She says the lady wore a blue dress with white flowers and my mum got a picture of a woman called Mrs Rowan and my sister reconised her she said "thats the lady!" It is weird but I think she is long gone. My mum can remember seeing a shadow step back everytime she looked. My mum was pregnant with her 1st child at the time and we all think Mr Rowan came because she wanted children herself. P.s. She would read stories to my sister and play games with her.
