Abuelo Carlos Speaking to Lyana (Abuela)
My mom, my dad, and my brother Kain went to Spain to visit my Abuela Lyana and my cousin Marcos. By habit, I brought my Ouija board (affectionately called Bob) to toy with. My grandmother loves using the Ouija board and she always uses prayers before we start.
Back to the story, me and my grandma were sitting in her small kitchen where we were talking about my Abuelo when he was still alive. Now, grandpa was a cool guy, as far as strictly devout Catholic old guys go. So out of the blue, Kain comes in and asks if we should use the Ouija board to contact Abuelo, and Abuela quickly agreed.
My papa, who’s French/American, didn’t understand all that we were saying, so he was quick to ask what we were scheming. We told him and he decided that he and Kain would write the letters. My mom was out at my uncles house and Marcos was just leaning back draining a glass of tequila, jumping in that he wanted to join too.
My grandma couldn’t speak English, but my grandpa could, so I guess by some streak of luck, he decided to speak in English for us. So we all sat down, said a prayer, and me, Marcos, and Abuela Lyana asked if there was a spirit in the room.
It went to the “yes” and we all looked at each other. I asked “Can you tell us your name?” and it spelled out a chilling name.
C-A-R-L-O-S V-A-S-Q-U-E-S Q-U-I-E-L-O which was my dead grandpa’s name.
My grandma gasped and asked if he was alright.
S-I was all it said (“si” is “yes” in Spanish, you should know that from simple Elementary Spanish classes)
Marcos then asked “If you are grandpa you will know all of our middle names,” he said bravely (stupid Marcos should know it was Abuelo…) It spelled out our middle names from mine to Kain’s to papa’s to Marcos then Abuela’s respectively.
A-N-I-T-A C-A-R-L-O-S D-A-R-I-A-N A-L-E-J-A-N-D-R-O A-N-J-E-L-I-T-A perfectly. He said he had to leave and we ended the session and closed the session. I believe that that spirit was my Abuelo, and I know my grandma thinks so too.

The spirit world doesn’t need to know other languages to communicate,it can understand any language,it spelled your names,but it’s the same in any language and you said he decided to respond in english but he said “si” in spanish, this is not a true story!
I think the spirit just responded in Spanish, so the grandma (his wife in life) wouldn’t have a heart attack trying to understand the English words. Older people tend to get easily upset and I’m sure the grandpa just wanted to calm her fear quickly, by responding in her language.
Karen, please don’t assume. It’s a quite simple contradiction anybody could easily mistake without checking over their final story.
Her Grandmother didn’t speak english, but her husband did. How do you explain how a spirit knows all of their middle names? She never said if they actually USED them.
Thats really interesting! Especially because your grandfather spelled each one of your middle names.
Really with the first comment here, you don’t “know” if it can understand every language. We aren’t in their world so there are a lot of things that are not known to the real world.

Hannah, how do you explain when people use a ouija board it can spell out peoples name that are playing with it, I’ve read lot’s of story where the spirit knew the names an they weren’t nice spirits either. No one really knows how they work! I’ll just give some advice to the girl who wrote this story…….DO NOT PLAY WITH OUIJA BOARDS!
This story seems to be fabricated
Whatever it is that “speaks” through the ouija board it certainly is not a dead loved one and it certainly isn’t a spirit with good intentions towards you. This entity which should be called a demon, wants to draw you in and eventually destroy, first your peace of mind and then your physical body. These immortal entities know all about you and yours and can mimic whoever they wish. Stay clear at all costs.
I will hanging out on this site to add a clear mind. My comment today is more on the comments then the story. Karen, I would like ot hear more of your experience as a spirit. You claim with complete certainty that spirits can understand any language. Why is that? how did you come upon this information? We are all hear to share stories to learn more about the mysteries around us. Bold claims stemming from absolutely no source does not help us at all.
As far as commenting on the story. We have no idea what happenes when we use the Ouija board. With every story we hear we must first ask ourselves did someone in that group actually control the planchette? Is the author telling the truth? could we be contacting beings on another dimension? is it a lying spirit? or is it the intended spirit? There are so many ifs and unanswered questions, that we have to tak ethese stories with a grain of salt and learn what we can.

Well, from what i know spirit, especially high level spirit could understand any languange. Don’t know why though……maybe cause they have different way to communicate or they had attended language class.
John (July 3), that is also what I believe. These entities know all about us and our love ones and it’s easy for them to mimic them. “Something” was also mimicking my husbands voice, calling my name, when I was alone at home. I could clearly hear his voice.

I believe your story. I am not a skeptic. I have had similar occurences with the ouija board. I would love to hear more of your stories. and in retun i CAN TELL YOU A FEW OF MINE……if you would like just ley me know
