True Ghost Tales

I have always been skeptical of ghosts and even after these events I would say I am still not a true believer. However I am not a person to simply dismiss fairly strong evidence so I have decided to put it to a community who could help me make sense and maybe give clarity of such events.

It first happened back when I use to live in Cornwall miles away from any other people or towns in 2008. I lived alone as my wife worked a high power job and would spend weeks away from home. During this time I was going through boughts of depression and in June it reached its climax.

Sick of life I went into our barn and got a piece of rope and tied it to the rafters. However when tying it and putting it around my neck I made some mistakes and when I jumped it failed to kill me instantly. I hung there struggling to breath when I looked down to see a figure appear then disappear like a flickering light. At first it thought I did not see it then it papered again. It was very bright and moved very irregularly. Its movements where reminiscent of a Puma not human. I tried to focus but I ran out of breath and fainted.

Next thing I know I am lying on the floor. I awake to see the rope had been cut yet there was no one around. Confused and weirdly slightly relieved I returned home to watch TV and drink myself into a stupor. Over the next week I attempted suicide twice more each time it failed and I saw the irregular moving light.

It was not until July that everything reached a head when I attempted my final suicide attempt. I tried to kill myself in my car with the old hose and fume trick. I sat in the car consciousness slipping and I noticed that the figure did not appear. This led me to panic as I know this was really the end. However as my consciousness faded I caught the quickest glimpse in my mirror of the light then an object flew off the garage shelves and smashed the window in my car. Then the hose fell out the car as if it had been yanked then I passed out. I awoke several hours later with a slight cough but totally fine.

I realize that for these sightings I was almost unconscious which means I may have been seeing things. However that does not explain the events. This either means I have a ghost looking after me or some strange person secretly lives near or in my home. I would like to hear peoples comments as I have no ideas on ghosts and want to know what this if anything could be.
