A Haunting in California

Posted on October 26, 2011

When I got out of the Army in 1979 I went back to California and temporarily moved in with my Mother in a Condo in the City of Stanton in Orange County.

From the very first day I knew there was something strange about the condo. First of all it just felt wrong. Secondly, the next morning, all the electricity was off in the house. When we went to the circuit breakers, they were all in the off position. My mother told me that this was happening to her on a regular basis.

A few days later when I was home alone, my Mother being at work and my younger brother in school I begin to hear voices in the Condo, as well as the sounds of someone moving things around in my Mothers room. Of course when I went upstairs to investigate there was no one there nor any signs of anything being moved around.

Things escalated quickly. My sister came over for a few days and she’s started sleeping in my brothers room. One night we all woke up to the sounds of her screams of terror. When I ran upstairs to see what was wrong I found that the water bed that she was sleeping on had one end raised off the floor and it was being shook from side to side. My sister was around 16 years old at that time and she was scared shitless and refused to go back into that bedroom again.

After that we knew for some reason that the ghosts name was Fred for some reason. Up until now no one had actually seen the ghost only what he was doing. This changed a week after the bed incident. I was playing pachinko in my brothers room when his pet Samoyed started growling at something in the hallway. I looked over at the door and there was a shadow framed in the doorway. It was man sized and shaped then it turned and walked through the wall and I never saw it again.

A few times after that we would hear the pachinko came being played upstairs when no one was upstairs.

My Mother eventually sold the Condo and I do not know whether or not it is still haunted.
